One problem: all subjects that would be usable by most Piqers already are things that exist. Cartoons, landscape, faces, everything has been thought of. Especially Video Games. That's why I said infinity, or Create Your Own Monster/Frightening thing.

It's nice that people have ideas but maybe we should think a sec if our idea is really a GOOD one. I think it's useless to suggest Pokémon, Minecraft or any other specific game/movie/anime/whatever. Think about it this way: The contest is not just for you but for the whole piq community.
Here's what I think: A good contest should inspire people to create something of their own and not just copying already existing stuff. A good contest should have something to offer to everybody (or at least to many). A good contest should be a bit challenging. And of course it's never a bad thing if the contest is some way distinctive. Sorry about this wall of text, I hope you managed to read it through. :)

Yeah, I don't think there's should be contests themed from games or TV shows, or movies. Even just a video game contest would show a HUGE lack of creativity. Everyone would be using mario sprites, which are nothing compared to real, beautiful pixel art.
